This project develops a promotional poster for a university typography lecture series, using scale, orientation, and typographic contrast to communicate event information within a highly reduced visual system. The design problem centers on balancing two functions: establishing an immediate public-facing presence at large format while also organizing a dense schedule of names, dates, and venue details in a readable structure.
The composition relies on an oversized display wordmark set vertically along the edge of the format, allowing a single typographic element to operate as both headline and graphic field. Against this large-scale gesture, the remaining content is organized in a restrained informational block with strong contrast in weight, size, and spacing. A limited palette of dark neutrals, white, and saturated yellow supports legibility while reinforcing visual cohesion across the piece.
As a portfolio project, the work demonstrates typographic hierarchy, compositional control, and the ability to use type as both information and form. It positions poster design not simply as announcement media, but as a system of visual pacing and structured emphasis suited to academic programming and public display.
