This project develops a visual identity and promotional system for the Finlandica Heritage Club Schutzhund Qualification Trials. The work positions the event through a coordinated set of print and digital materials, including a poster, postcard mailer, and conceptual mobile app screens. Rather than treating each artifact as a standalone piece, the system uses consistent typography, color, and image treatment to establish continuity across formats and viewing contexts.
A low-poly illustrated dog portrait functions as the primary visual anchor, giving the identity a recognizable focal point while supporting a contemporary, geometric aesthetic. The surrounding layouts rely on strong typographic hierarchy, large-scale condensed display type, and a restrained blue-violet palette to organize event information and maintain clarity. Across the print pieces, composition shifts between asymmetrical image placement, broad areas of atmospheric polygonal texture, and clear blocks of event details, allowing the identity to remain flexible while visually unified.
The project demonstrates an approach to branding rooted in systems thinking and formal control. It shows how a single image language and typographic structure can extend across promotional, informational, and interface-based applications. As a portfolio project, it reflects an interest in translating identity across media while preserving hierarchy, legibility, and compositional consistency.
Methods / Process Statement
Identity system designed through the integration of vector-based illustration, typographic hierarchy studies, and cross-format layout development. Print and interface applications were structured to preserve visual continuity while adapting content organization to different scales, aspect ratios, and communication functions.
Event poster using a dominant full-height illustrated figure and rotated typography to create a strong visual entry point. The composition balances dramatic image scale with carefully staged informational zones, allowing schedule and venue details to remain legible within a highly image-led format.
Promotional postcard front combining large-scale typographic hierarchy with a cropped geometric illustration to establish the event identity quickly and clearly. The layout uses asymmetrical division, color contrast, and scale shifts to separate title information from supporting details.
Direct-mail postcard reverse organizing promotional copy, mailing space, and registration messaging within a structured but flexible layout. Information is grouped through clear vertical divisions, contrast in type weight, and horizontal banding that helps separate event benefits from the call to action.
Conceptual mobile app designs extending the Finlandica Schutzhund Qualification Trials identity into a digital event interface. The set includes an iPhone mockup and three active screen views, applying the campaign’s geometric illustration, blue palette, and typographic hierarchy across navigation, ticketing, and news features to create a consistent cross-platform experience.
